6.18.2003 umbraco becomes open source Great news! Finaly my content management platform - umbraco - is becoming open source! It will happen under the codename "chili" during the next months. I'm so thrilled - so even though the site is in Danish, go sign up to the newsletter to get updates (the form to the right). If you type "UK" as a part of your name, I'll make sure that you only receive the english newsletter. As far as I know it'll be one of the first "real" open source Content Management Platforms that run on the microsoft dot-net platform. It features 100% percent freedom over the XML-based document-model, build-in community and lots of instant-features - just add water (or maybe xslt) - like weblogs, discussions, closed areas (extranets or whatever buzzword you might prefer). Also nifty features like support for the Metablog api, wizard to make rss-feeds of all objects/documents, form-editor, macros, newsletters - man, that list just goes on and on... The build in caching technique even makes the site perform like a ferrari on desktop servers running the free MSDE sql server database ;-) Come meet me at the reboot conference friday if you wanna know more - pass me a mail and let's chat! 0 Comment(s)... |
